Muscat trip

Last weekend, 10th of April 2009, we went to muscat,oman with Za's family, Wati's family, Fazillah's family, Ina's family and Ayu's family, six family altogether, it was very fun trip although we just stayed for one night and the others came back on Sunday. We went at 5.45am from Abu Dhabi and met at the adnoc petrol station on the way to Al-Ain. On the way we stopped at Nizwa for lunch and at Jabel Akhdar to see the view up there. It cool up there but the scenery very beautiful.

About 7.00pm we went to muscat and reached the apartment about 10.00pm, we stayed at Asas Oman apartment, there are three bedroom, but very spacious. We brought our own food, Za and Wati brought a lot of food, sambal tumis ikan bilis, dalca, daging masak kicap, ayam goreng etc.

The next morning we woke-up early prepared for breakfast-nasi lemak, i brought karipap, so after breakfast about 7.00am, we went to Sultan Qaboos mosque, took a photos there, then we went to muscat port and muttrah suoq. Took a lot of photos.

At 11.30am my family we backed to Abu Dhabi because the next day(Sunday) my husband was working, but the rest of the group stay till sunday.

Busy month

I think this month is the most busiest month, full of activities, start from early of the month i finished my lapsize quilt, the first quilt that i managed to finish it so far this year. I made a cushion cover for kak long and she can use it at her hostel, on 7th March kak long came to Abu Dhabi, she had a semester break for two weeks




On 7th March, she reached here at 11.00a.m with Qatar Airways, we went straight to Dubai Mall, to show her the family favourite bookstore, kinokuniya, and the aquarium at the ground floor, backed to Abu Dhabi at 10.00pm. The next day, we had a picnic corniche beach. The weather very nice and the water so blue. The boys really enjoyed play in the water. I made fried macaroni and fried kueh teow, i also made fruit tartlet( this is kak long's favourite).By the afternoon,the foods were not enough, so we bought pizza and sandwiches, they were very hungry. It so tried.





During the week days we went to shopping at Madinat Zayed, Hamdan Centre, Gift Tower, Cairo, Al Wahda Mall, Marina Mall and Khalidiyah Mall. Since kak long need to buy fabric to make her baju kurung, by the way, she only allow to wear baju kurung or "jubah"in her college.

On 12th March, their school(Cambridge High School)made an exhibition evening for the secondary students, so we went there that night to see what they were doing, kak ngah of course busy with her bestfriend Dania, her class did about colours and fashions, and for syazwan ke class made about forsenic technique, i think more like CSI things.

The next day, Friday 13th march, we went to ski dubai, at Mall of Emirate, it really enjoyable although it very cold but we really have fun, especially Adik and Farhan, these two boys didn't feel cold at all, playing all the way. After that we had lunch and about 4.00pm we went to naif souq to buy abaya for kak long and her friends.

On Saturday afternoon we went to Khalidiyah Mall to do weekly marketing, than we went to corniche for bicycle riding. Have fun...

Kak long went back to Malaysia, on 19th March at 11.59pm, before that we took a photo at home than we to their school for international evening, Adik's class made about Scotland and Farhan's class made about Jamaica. Here are their works.

Kak long register for her short semester on 23th March, now is exam time for the others, they start their exam on 22nd March until 9th April 2009.So now everyone busy with their study and for me busy preparing food since during the study time they all hungry and demand a lot of food, wish your good luck for your exam.

I had a sad news, my friend Eita(Rossita) passed-away last monday, Al-Fatihah, semuga dia bersama orang-orang yang solehah, insyaAllah. Keadaan ni menjadi peringatan dan keinsafan kepada setiap yang hidup pasti menghadapi kematian,cuma kita tidak pasti bilakah waktunya. Hanya yang dapat kita lakukan hanyalah berdoa supaya ditetapkan iman, ketaqwaan, dipertunjukkan jalan yang lurus, dilindung bersama-sama orang-orang yang soleh dan solehan,dipanjangkan umur dan diberikan kesihatan untuk membolehkan kita lebih lagi memperbanyakkan ibadah kepada Allah s.w.t, insyaAllah.

New Year 2009

Happy new year 2009, may this year be a better year to all of us, we become healthier, prosperous and world without hunger and war. On the 1st of January 2009, Za's family and my family went to a day trip to Fujairah, we went there early in the morning about 7.00am from Abu Dhabi, but the weather very foggy, we cannot see more than 100m, it quiet dangerous, but since we had promise to the children to go so we still proceed, we reached Dibba about zohor time around 12.30pm we had a lunch there, after a while we went to khorfakhan, it just about 30km from Dibba.

On the way to Khorfakhan we stopped a while at the old mosque made around 1446 AD, it very old,i think it's made from clay.

Then we went straight to khorfakhan, the boys enjoy played with the sand.

We went backed to Abu Dhabi about 5.30pm and stopped a while at the friday market at masafi (i bought a carpet) and we reached home at midnight, everyone very tired but enjoyable tripped.

Last weekend (9th January 2009) was Kak Ngah 14th birthday, happy birthday, we bought her a new handphone-samsung-hope she like it, we went to the corniche beach, i prefer this beach much more than at the Khorfakhan since all the facilities are the, there a showers, toilets, playground, life guard, mosque, cafe, the beach is clean and the water also clear, we stayed there the whole day, and the boys love it very much, insyaAllah next month we will go again since the weather now still cool and comfortable.

This week we plan to go to Dubai Mall again, to our favourite spot-kinokuniya bookstore-and on the way back may we stop at the global village since this month is the last month it open. Anyway my hubby plan to by another leather jacket, hehehe....so i pun tumpang shopping sekalilah... by the way my darling hubby just bought me notebook acer aspire, so after this tak payahlah nak bergaduh dengan the kids siapa nak guna computer, and i can call kak long everyday since it much more cheaper call via internet. In addition, i can always update my blog, insyaAllah.

Winter holiday

Now is school holiday start from 18th December 2008 until 3rd January 2009. Last weekend, 19th December 2008, we went to Mall of Dubai, the first place we went to kinokuniya bookstore, it huge compare to borders and kinokuniya in Malaysia, i like it very much since most of the book i like are there. I bought a decorative painting book by Priscilla Hauser(now i'm practicing the roses based on this book...so far ok but not exactly the same), a cup of comfort for women and health book, my childred bought their story books. Now decorative painting become my another hobby instead of quilting and baking. I think i like to draw, example the best part of doing quilt is during design the top part, i have so many designs (more than one sketchbook) but still not turn it into quilt, since to finish one quilt its takes me months

We been there from 2.00pm until 6.30, still feel not enough time, a lot of books more to browse. In the Dubai mall there have a tallest christmas tree in the UAE, it is 94 foot tall from the ground to the ceiling with over 8000 deorative ornaments, and the colours keep on change from white, blue, red, green and orange. One funny thing happened, we met Alan and family, Alan is a chinese guy from Malaysia, his wife Pam from Hong Kong and have one daugther name Lauren, they are very nice people. However we only met each other at the bookshop or at the park (by co-incidence), other than this two places we never see each other. I didn't met them since last April, i think...

This month also Farhan's and Fardan's birthday, Farhan was on 14th December, so he become 9 years old, Happy 9th Birthday. I made orange cupcakes, caramel pudding and steam buns only, since that time they had their first term exam so, everythings simple and short.

Today 24th December is Fardan's birthday, i make caramel pudding, roasted chicken, mashed potatoes, coleslaw together with fries, based on requested by the birthday boy.

Finally, last month on 25th November 2008, i finished my wall hanging quilt, it took me five months to finish it since, well i did it when i really free, and for the last few months i'm quite busy with Kak Long.

By the way, now she in Islamic Internationally University in Malaysia doing her foundation, fardan and i went backed to Malaysia on 28th Oct for two weeks. Her registration on 8th November and we came back to Abu Dhabi on 11th November 2008. Now, i hope she is settledown and busy with her studies. Next week her sementer break for one week.

Eid Mubarak

Happy Eid Mubarak to all muslims, we had our Eid Mubarak celebration for the fourth time in Abu Dhabi, but this year a little bit difference compared to previous years which was always had a picnic at the park, since the weather still hot so we had a planned to visit from one house to another (acara kunjung-mengunjung dari rumah ke rumah) just as we usually did in Malaysia. This the spirit of Eid Mubarak to visit each other, forgive and forgiving. There were eight families all together my family, Ina Khairul, Faizah, Hamidah, Za, Fadzillah, Norizan and Ziana.

In the morning my family had a photo sessions in our house, we went to the ambassador's house for Eid Fitr solah, we had a pot-luck there, so i brought nasi impit, rendang, swiss roll and carrot cake, then we went to Ina's house she cooked nasi dagang (Terengganu specialty dish), rendang and lemang, after that at Hamidah's house we had mee kari and nasi impit also, in late afternoon we went to Norizan's house and had laksa johor, at the evening we went to Za's house at mafraq, in there we had satay, nasi kerabu and also nasi dagang. So almost the whole day we eat and eat and eat,.... so during the ramadan i loss only one kg but first day of Eid add another 2 kg, this terrible....

On the second Eid, again another eat outing, we went to Faizah's house, she made satay, soto, gado-gado and tempe goreng, so delicious, she such a great cook. So the last at my house, i made fried noodle (mee hoon goreng), rendang daging and nasi impit,blueberry and strawberry pies only, but i made a lot of cookies - london almond, chocolate chips, coconut biscuit , honey cornflake, kuih siput, biskut bunga cina (it like a carnation, that what my friend said) and pineapple tart.

At my house, all the husbands happy chatting with the lastest gossips, i think and
the boys enjoying played with PS2. For the mums, what else another round for eating.

On 7th October, the school is started, so i'm alone but tomorrow kak long will be around since today her last day doing the volunteer work at school. By the way she got a offer to futher study doing Bachelor in medicine and bachelor in surgery (MBBS) at International Islamic Univerisity (UIA) in Malaysia , she will do her foundation course for two years at PJ campus, then she will further do her medicine programme in Kuantan for another five years. All the best kak long, i know you can do it, mama and bapa always berdoa you will success in what ever you do, insyaAllah.
